About Cate
I first encountered Tai Chi while living in China, where I was teaching English. In the mornings, I would sometimes join a faculty member for practice. I didn’t know what much of it meant at the time, but I remember how it felt; calm, steady, and quietly absorbing.
That stayed with me. Back in the UK, I kept up my practice and, in 2025, chose to deepen it by training as an instructor with the Bristol-based Tai Chi for All school.
I now teach in a way that reflects that experience: relaxed, welcoming, and focused on helping people move and breathe more comfortably, without pressure.
Alongside teaching, I run a Japan travel planning service (Don't Take Me To Tokyo), creating itineraries for clients who want to explore the country in a more considered way. Outside of work, I enjoy gardening and cooking, often inspired by the time I spent in Asia.
